About the funder
The Städtetag Baden-Württemberg is the municipal state association in the form of a registered association and represents the interests of its 206 member cities vis-à-vis the state, federal government, and the European Union. Founded on May 10, 1954, in Baden-Baden, it informs and advises cities and municipalities on current issues of legislation, administrative practice, and municipal developments. Its tasks include the preparation of studies and surveys, exchange of experiences, professional consultation, and the fulfillment of the constitutional mandate according to Article 71, paragraph 4 of the state constitution.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to sustainably strengthen the capacity to act and future viability of the cities and municipalities of Baden-Württemberg. We represent their interests vis-à-vis politics and administration at the state, federal, and EU levels, promote knowledge transfer and networking, and support local actors through consulting, studies, and training. We stand for a partnership-based collaboration between the state and municipalities to create effective solutions for people at the local level.
Target groups
Our funding and service offerings are aimed at cities and municipalities in Baden-Württemberg, as well as their administrations, employees, and inter-municipal associations. In particular, municipal decision-makers, specialist departments, and staff benefit from the information services, projects, and training programs of the Städtetag. Additionally, we support regional city groups, municipal associations, and committees in cooperation and innovative project development.
