STARKE KINDER – Gertrude und Hannelore Klier Stiftung

Private foundation

About the funder

The STARKE KINDER – Gertrude and Hannelore Klier Foundation is a non-profit foundation under private law, established in 2012 by mother and daughter, and based in Bremen. Its endowment originates from the family-owned confectionery and bakery business, from which the founders wished to sustainably contribute to the future of young people. The foundation provides financial assistance to enable children and adolescents from low-income families to access sports and musical activities. It covers rental fees for instruments, subsidies for ensembles or club memberships, as well as equipment such as ballet shoes, football boots, or training camps.

Mission & Vision

The STARKE KINDER Foundation is committed to empowering young people by enabling their participation in sports and music, thereby strengthening their creativity, perseverance, teamwork, and self-confidence. We believe in the positive impact of communal activities and aim to provide children and adolescents from financially limited families with equal opportunities for their personal and social development.

Target groups

Children and adolescents from low-income families, primarily from the Bremen districts of Hastedt and Osterholz, are supported, in exceptional cases also beyond the age of 18. Anyone interested in engaging in sports or music may submit an application.
