Sternstunden e.V.
About the funder
Sternstunden e.V. is a charitable benefit initiative of Bayerischer Rundfunk established in 1993, entirely dedicated to supporting sick, disabled, and disadvantaged children. The association works closely with Bayerischer Rundfunk and other members such as BayernLB, the Bavarian Savings Banks Association, LBS Landesbausparkasse Süd, and Versicherungskammer Bayern. Thanks to voluntary work, interest income, and the provision of office space and services free of charge, 100% of monetary donations go directly to the supported child aid projects in Bavaria, Germany, and worldwide. To date, Sternstunden has raised over €421 million in donations, supporting more than 4,066 projects. The allocation of funding is carried out following a comprehensive review process by the association's own project committee.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to provide fast and unbureaucratic assistance to sick, disabled, and children in need in Bavaria, Germany, and worldwide. We prioritize transparency, sustainability, and efficient project funding to ensure that every donation reaches where it makes the greatest possible difference. Through close partnerships with Bayerischer Rundfunk and other strong partners, we guarantee that our charity campaign is a reliable symbol of trust for society.
Target groups
Sternstunden e.V. directs its funding specifically to children disadvantaged by illness, disability, or social hardship, as well as to their families. Both individual initiatives in Bavaria and supraregional and international projects are supported, enabling medical care, rehabilitation, psychosocial support, or infrastructural improvements for affected children and adolescents.
