By funding preventive measures, ophthalmological examinations, treatments, and rehabilitation, it promotes the physical and mental health of those affected and contributes to their participation in social life.
Target groups
Funding is provided for people in countries of the Global South without access to ophthalmic care, particularly blind and visually impaired children and adults; local hospitals and eye clinics requiring ophthalmic personnel and equipment; professionals in ophthalmological and orthoptic training programs; as well as patients in humanitarian crisis areas (e.g., South Sudan, Ukraine) and in Europe (e.g., mobile orthoptists in Germany).
