Stiftung Bauernhaus-Museum Bielefeld

The Bauernhausmuseum Bielefeld Foundation was established on October 8, 2003, by 43 citizens with an initial capital of €72,000 and now possesses an endowment exceeding €350,000. The aim of this legally recognized, non-profit foundation is to ensure the long-term operation of the Bauernhausmuseum. To this end, it primarily funds educational work for schools and youth, the acquisition of museum objects, as well as special exhibitions. All activities are carried out on a voluntary basis, so no significant administrative or personnel costs are incurred.

The Stiftung Bauernhausmuseum Bielefeld aims to preserve rural life and the peasant culture of the Bielefeld region in the public consciousness. Through the continuous growth of the foundation's assets, the operation of the open-air museum is to be permanently secured. With its commitment, the foundation promotes education, research, and the dissemination of cultural history for future generations.

The foundation's funding activities are directed towards the Bauernhaus Museum itself and its visitors.
