About the funder

The non-profit Stiftung BILDUNG & KUNST was founded in 2001 by Dr. Hans Novotny in Schwabach. It promotes education, upbringing, science, and art by supporting promising initiatives in the Bavaria region. Focus areas include young learning, intercultural encounters, equal opportunities from early childhood, as well as a holistic educational approach incorporating art & culture. Funded projects include, among others, collaborations with FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg (WiSo), Adam-Kraft-Gymnasium Schwabach, Abrigo Brasil e.V., the Schwabach City Museum, and the Schwabach Artists' Association e.V. Since 2005, the foundation has awarded the Dr. Hans Novotny Prize for the best master's thesis by international students at WiSo Nürnberg (€1,000 prize money per semester).
