About the funder

The non-profit Billwerder Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Hamburg. It is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the cultural landscape of the Vier- and Marschlande and, in particular, the Billwerder cultural landscape ensemble. Its areas of support include nature conservation and landscape management in accordance with the Federal Nature Conservation Act, the care of art and culture, as well as monument protection and preservation. Priority is given to projects in the fields of nature conservation, landscape management, art, culture, monument protection, and heritage preservation. Funding is primarily aimed at initiatives and associations from Billwerder and the Vier- and Marschlande areas but cannot generally be geographically restricted, provided they align with the foundation's purposes.
