Stiftung Billwerder

The non-profit Billwerder Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Hamburg. It is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the cultural landscape of the Vier- and Marschlande and, in particular, the Billwerder cultural landscape ensemble. Its areas of support include nature conservation and landscape management in accordance with the Federal Nature Conservation Act, the care of art and culture, as well as monument protection and preservation. The foundation operates both directly through its own projects and indirectly by forwarding funds to other non-profit organizations with similar objectives.

The Billwerder Foundation aims to contribute to the preservation of the unique cultural landscape and cultural heritage of the Vier- and Marschlande and to safeguard them for future generations. It supports projects that enhance ecological diversity, cultural traditions, and historically significant monuments. The Foundation is committed to sustainable initiatives in Billwerder and its surroundings and promotes collaboration with local initiatives and recognized non-profit organizations.

Eligible for funding are non-profit individuals, groups, and organizations whose activities serve the foundation's objectives. Priority is given to projects in the fields of nature conservation, landscape management, art, culture, monument protection, and heritage preservation. Funding is primarily aimed at initiatives and associations from Billwerder and the Vier- and Marschlande areas but cannot generally be geographically restricted, provided they align with the foundation's purposes.
