About the funder
The foundation of the association is a non-independent foundation based in Jena, established in 1989 by resolution of the general assembly of the Association of Baltic Knighthoods e.V. It has been recognized by the Munich tax office as a non-profit and charitable organization. Its main tasks include financing the association’s Caritas, cultural promotion measures in Estonia and Latvia, as well as supporting educational and historical events. Well-known programs: scholarships for Estonian and Latvian students, renovation of the Wagner Theater in Riga, support for the German-Baltic Department of the East Prussian State Museum in Lüneburg.

Mission & Vision
Support for needy individuals as well as the promotion of education, training, further education, homeland preservation, and the documentation of historical values. The primary task is the financing of the charitable work of the Association of the Baltic Knighthoods as well as the regular support of cultural initiatives in Estonia and Latvia.
Target groups
Needy individuals with ties to the German-Baltic community, students from Estonia and Latvia, cultural institutions, and educational providers in the Baltic states. Geographical focus: Germany as well as Estonia and Latvia. A connection to German-Baltic history and community is generally a prerequisite.
