About the funder

The Foundation of the German Police Union is a non-profit public foundation under civil law, established in June 1997 by members of the German Police Union. It supports employees and pensioners of the police nationwide, as well as members of other security authorities (e.g., professional fire brigades, emergency services, correctional services) and their surviving dependents through in-kind benefits, one-time or recurring financial grants, and restorative stays at three foundation houses located at Sylvenstein Lake, in the spa town of Lenggries, and at Walchensee.

Mission & Vision

Under the motto "Helpers also need help," the mission of the foundation is to support police employees and emergency personnel physically, mentally, and emotionally in exceptional situations. The goal is to strengthen the "protective vest for the soul," maintain operational capability, and promote it sustainably.

Target groups

The target group includes all professional groups named in the foundation's purpose related to internal security in Germany: police officers, members of the professional fire brigade, emergency medical services, customs, and correctional services, as well as their survivors (widows and orphans). Support services are available to all affected individuals regardless of membership in the German Police Union.
