Stiftung Die Gesundarbeiter – Zukunftsverantwortung Gesundheit

The foundation "Die Gesundarbeiter – Zukunftsverantwortung Gesundheit" is a non-profit foundation under civil law, established in 2012 by the health insurance company Die Schwenninger (since 2021 vivida bkk) and based in Villingen-Schwenningen. It is dedicated to promoting health literacy and prevention across all stages of life. The focus is on projects, studies, and collaborations addressing the core topics of nutrition, exercise, and relaxation. The foundation particularly targets children and adolescents in daycare centers, schools, and higher education institutions, as well as multipliers such as teachers and educators. In parallel, it supports programs for workplace health promotion and funds scientific research to establish a solid foundation in health-related matters.

Founded with the aim of raising awareness of health as the foundation for quality of life, the foundation promotes a paradigm shift from curative care to primary prevention. "Health is a gift you must give yourself." Following this guiding principle, it supports people in taking personal responsibility for a healthy lifestyle. Its mission extends from children and adolescents to employees and seniors—always with the goal of sustainably maintaining health through balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and targeted relaxation.

The foundation primarily targets children and adolescents as well as their educational professionals in kindergartens, schools, universities, and training companies. Parents, teachers, and educators also belong to the target groups, serving as multipliers to embed health-promoting content within their institutions. Furthermore, the foundation supports programs for employers and employees to strengthen workplace health. Through studies, position papers, and events, it also reaches political actors and multipliers in health policy.
