About the funder

The Stiftung Erzabtei St. Ottilien was established in 2009 by the monastic community of the Missionary Benedictines. Its purpose is to support projects aimed at the preservation, continuation, and further development of the St. Ottilien monastic village. The foundation's goal is to secure, both financially and ideologically, the diverse tasks of the archabbey in the long term – from the renewal of the Rhabanus-Maurus-Gymnasium and international mission projects to the protection of the listed art and cultural heritage.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is the preservation and strengthening of the spiritual, cultural, and missionary heritage of the Archabbey of St. Ottilien according to the principles of the Holy Benedictines and Saint Ottilia. The foundation sees itself as the fiduciary guardian and promoter of monastic projects as well as a driving force for sustainable developments that benefit guests, students, and the surrounding village community.

Target groups

The foundation is aimed at private and institutional sponsors, friends, and patrons of the Archabbey of St. Ottilien, as well as donors who wish to support monastic life and the mission-Benedictine tradition in Germany and worldwide. It specifically addresses members of the circle of friends "Friends and Supporters of the Archabbey of St. Ottilien," companies, cultural institutions, and public funding programs committed to promoting education, culture, and mission.
