Religious organization

About the funder

The Stiftung Ev. Kirche und Diakonie Georgien was founded in 2001 by Prof. Dr. Gert Hummel to provide long-term support to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Georgia, which revived after the Soviet era. The registered office of this non-profit and charitable foundation is in St. Ingbert (Saarland), with operational management entrusted to a voluntary board. Through donations, endowments, and sponsorships, it supports church-related activities such as child and youth work, adult education, elderly care, religious instruction, and church music, as well as diaconal projects: daily hot meals in the soup kitchen, distribution of food packages, accommodation and care at the Saltet House, home nursing care, migration counseling, and integration assistance.
