About the funder
Stiftung FamilienBande is a non-profit foundation under civil law based in Augsburg. It is committed to ensuring that siblings of chronically ill or disabled children in Germany receive the necessary attention and support. To facilitate access to existing services for those affected, it operates a comprehensive service search with more than 350 entries. In addition, the foundation initiates new regional and quality-assured services, promotes networking between science and practice, and raises awareness among the public and policymakers about the special life situation of siblings.

The Stiftung FamilienBande aims to support siblings of chronically ill or disabled children in their development and to provide them, when needed, with suitable, high-quality services close to home. It sees itself as a driving force for the initiation and visibility of such services and as a partner for professionals, institutions, and networks.

The programs and projects of the Stiftung FamilienBande are primarily aimed at siblings of severely chronically ill or disabled children and adolescents, as well as their families in Germany. Additionally, the foundation addresses professionals from social pediatrics, education, and therapy, municipal agencies, and potential cooperation partners to collaboratively develop well-founded and sustainable support structures.
