Stiftung Familienglück

Private foundation

About the funder

The Familienglück Foundation was established in 2008 by the Heidelberg entrepreneur Markus Heimer and has been jointly managed since 2016 by him and his wife Anna-Kristina Heimer as the board. The non-profit foundation is committed both ideologically and financially to families, children, youth, and seniors, as well as to the protection of marriage and family, animal welfare, gender equality, and the arts and culture. It supports projects that receive little societal attention in order to provide families in various life situations with direct assistance and long-term opportunities. Ongoing initiatives include, among others, the Wunschglück campaign for women's shelters and the Sibling Children Project for relatives of ill children.

Mission & Vision

The Stiftung Familienglück strives for a society in which respect and honesty are the highest prerequisites for living happily together. Our goal is to promote family happiness in all its facets by providing both ideological and financial support to child, youth, and elderly welfare, the protection of marriage and family, animal welfare, equality, as well as art and culture. Every individual should be able to define and realize "family happiness" in their own way.

Target groups

Our funding programs are aimed at families in diverse life situations: children and adolescents, seniors, married couples, single parents, as well as people in need (e.g., residents of women's shelters). In addition, we address siblings of seriously ill children to provide them with special experiences. We support project sponsors who develop innovative approaches to strengthening families and promoting social participation.
