Stiftung Friedrich und Charlotte Merz für Bildung und Ausbildung
About the funder
The Friedrich and Charlotte Merz Foundation for Education and Training is a regionally active, non-profit foundation based in Arnsberg. Founded on the occasion of Friedrich Merz’s 50th birthday, it supports educational and training projects for young people, particularly in the city of Arnsberg. The foundation invests in innovative approaches such as digital learning media (e.g., Schullizenz Plus app), “free learning spaces” in city libraries (#TAPETENWECHSEL), media education competence development, and library equipment. It also supports traditional educational projects such as book recommendation shows, awards for top students, study abroad programs, as well as individual support programs at schools and competition applications.

Mission & Vision
Our goal is to improve equal opportunities for young people in the Arnsberg region through targeted support for education and training. We support sustainable projects that strengthen competency-based learning, digital media literacy, and autonomous work. The foundation focuses on effective, long-term implementable models and cooperates closely with schools, associations, and other local stakeholders.
Target groups
Non-profit associations, organizations, schools, institutions, and individuals based in Arnsberg are supported. The programs target pupils, trainees, and young people, especially from socially disadvantaged families, who are to be supported in their personal and professional development through project-related initiatives such as scholarships, teaching materials, library equipment, and stays abroad.
