About the funder
The Stiftung Gießener Hochschulgesellschaft was established in 2007 by the Gießener Hochschulgesellschaft, the association of friends and supporters of the Justus Liebig University Giessen. The proceeds from the foundation’s capital are allocated to numerous projects promoting research, teaching, and strengthening the interaction between the university and stakeholders from science, culture, business, and public life. Decisions regarding the allocation of funds are made by the foundation’s board. The foundation relies on additional endowments to secure its capital in the long term and to fully fulfill its funding purpose.

Mission & Vision
Our goal is the sustainable strengthening of the Justus Liebig University Giessen through targeted support of research and teaching projects, as well as the promotion of dialogue and collaboration between the university and societal partners. The foundation aims to initiate and finance high-quality projects so that they can later successfully compete in national and international funding programs. We call upon friends of the university to preserve and further expand the foundation’s capital through additional endowments.
Target groups
Funding is provided to researchers, teaching staff, students, and university institutions of the Justus Liebig University Giessen, as well as project partners from culture, business, and public life, who carry out innovative research or teaching projects in accordance with the foundation's purpose and aim to strengthen the collaboration between the university and society.
