Stiftung Gymnasium Wellingdorf

Public foundation

About the funder

The Stiftung Gymnasium Wellingdorf was established in February 2012 as the first independent school foundation of a public grammar school in Schleswig-Holstein under the umbrella of the Förde Sparkasse Donors' Association. With an initial capital of €27,000, private individuals and partners have since supported cultural and scientific projects at Gymnasium Wellingdorf. The funding areas particularly include the wind and string instrument classes, study abroad programs, and scientific initiatives. An annual award of currently €500 is granted to students who develop learning content in an especially innovative way and have contributed significantly to social cohesion at the school. By the school's 100th anniversary in 2014, the goal was to reach an endowment capital of €100,000.
