Mission & Vision

The Stiftung Hamburger Hospiz is committed to accompanying people with dignity in their final phase of life and to sensitively supporting their relatives in grief. Through the promotion of inpatient hospice facilities, outpatient counseling services, and bereavement programs, as well as through public relations and fundraising, we aim to foster a societal shift towards an open and dignified approach to dying, death, and mourning.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Stiftung Hamburger Hospiz are aimed at seriously ill and dying people in Hamburg as well as their relatives and close associates. Additionally, bereaved individuals are addressed who wish to make use of psychosocial support, facilitated grief groups, and creative day seminars. As a non-profit foundation, we provide all services free of charge or funded by donations to ensure social participation regardless of financial means.
