About the funder
The trust foundation "Historisches Bewahren denkmalgeschützter Friedhofskultur" was established in 2013 by the City of Osnabrück and the Bürgerstiftung Osnabrück as trustee. It serves the preservation and restoration of historic gravestones, walls, and pathways in the Hase Cemetery and the Johannis Cemetery and is committed to the protection and ecological maintenance of these listed green spaces. Through donations and endowments, it enables professional restorations as well as the integration of the historic cemeteries into cultural and nature-oriented programs.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to permanently preserve the unique cemetery culture of Osnabrück and to involve the public in its care and use. The foundation creates financial and organizational frameworks to ensure that valuable grave monuments are maintained, green spaces serve as urban recreational areas, and historical educational and cultural offerings can be realized.
Target groups
The foundation is aimed at all citizens, families with historic family graves, heirs and donors, as well as institutions and associations committed to monument preservation, urban history, and nature conservation. It also addresses cultural initiatives, educational institutions, and support groups that wish to support and help shape content-related projects, guided tours, and events at the historic cemeteries.
