Stiftung Houben
About the funder
The Houben Foundation was established by the City of Aachen as a non-independent public law foundation in accordance with the will of Louise Houben dated June 23, 1887. Its purpose is to award up to two scholarships annually for the duration of one fiscal year to support schooling at secondary schools (from the lowest grade) and studies at universities or universities of applied sciences until the completion of the 25th year of age. The City of Aachen administers the foundation's assets as special funds in a fiduciary capacity and annually publishes all necessary documents and information regarding the foundation's constitution and application procedure on the municipal website. The annual net proceeds of the principal assets, minus administrative costs (10%), are fully used for scholarships.
