About the funder
The Stiftung Initiative Mehrweg (SIM) was established in 1996 as a legally capable foundation under civil law, based in Berlin. Its objective is to sustainably support resource conservation and environmental protection by creating the conditions to stabilize and increase the share of reusable systems across all economic sectors. Annually, the foundation deepens specific scientific focus areas in collaboration with environmental and trade associations as well as reusable-oriented companies, and contributes demands for the promotion of reusable systems to the environmental policy dialogue.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to promote reusable systems, conserve resources, and actively prevent waste. We believe in the power of reusable packaging solutions to enhance climate and environmental protection and to establish sustainable business practices.
Target groups
The Stiftung Initiative Mehrweg targets environmental and trade associations, reusable-oriented companies, political decision-makers, as well as the interested public. Its goal is to provide stakeholders from politics and business with well-founded studies and position papers and to jointly advance sustainable reusable concepts.
