Stiftung Irmlinde Hikel
About the funder
The Irmlinde Hikel Foundation is a consumer foundation established on July 6, 2018, by Ms. Irmlinde Hikel to dedicate the assets entrusted to her to charitable and non-profit purposes. It utilizes the legacy of its founder to sustainably and effectively support the work of the association "Women and Children in Need e.V." Ms. Hikel was a founding member of the association in June 1983 and served as its first chairwoman with passion and expertise. Even after stepping down from the board, she remained closely connected to the association. The foundation distributes 10% of its assets annually for approved projects; additional endowments increase these disbursements.

Mission & Vision
The Irmlinde Hikel Foundation aims to provide women and children affected by violence with a long-term perspective free from violence. It seeks to open doors, transcend boundaries, and, in the spirit of Anselm Grün's guiding principle, create greater openness for those affected. Through its work, the foundation contributes to ensuring and further developing the services of the association "Women and Children in Need e.V." for the future.
Target groups
Projects of the association "Frauen und Kinder in Not e.V." are funded, targeting women, children, as well as trans*, inter*, and non-binary persons affected by domestic and sexualized violence. The aim is to protect those affected in crisis situations, provide counseling, and support them in coping with traumatic experiences through therapeutic offerings such as expressive painting and sandplay therapy.
