About the funder

The non-profit Stiftung Kinder- und Jugendhospiz Regenbogenland was founded in 2013 to ensure the long-term preservation of the Kinder- und Jugendhospiz Regenbogenland in Düsseldorf and to sustainably promote its projects and services. With its resources, the foundation supports families with children and adolescents suffering from life-limiting illnesses, contributes to medical research (particularly in palliative and hospice care as well as pediatric oncology), and establishes collaborations with clinics, universities, and specialized institutions. Transparency, good foundation management, and the sharing of knowledge are central concerns of the foundation.

Mission & Vision

Together.Values.Create. – We provide families with children suffering from life-limiting illnesses the necessary support, create space for assistance and research, and raise public awareness for children’s and youth hospice care. Our goal is to bring hope and values into society through diverse funding initiatives, scientific impulses, and compassionate accompaniment.

Target groups

The foundation is aimed at families with children and adolescents suffering from life-shortening or life-threatening illnesses. Furthermore, it supports partners from medicine, science, and education who work in the fields of palliative care, pediatric oncology, and grief counseling. It assists research institutions, professionals, volunteers, and interested parties to strengthen competencies and to destigmatize societal dialogue about dying, death, and mourning.
