Stiftung Klima- und Umweltschutz MV

The Climate and Environmental Protection Foundation MV is an independent foundation established by the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, tasked with anchoring the century-long challenge of climate protection as existentially important in the awareness of the general public and promoting active engagement in climate and environmental protection. It supports projects through consulting, public relations, cooperation, and financial grants, and collaborates with citizens, associations, organizations, companies, and the scientific community. The foundation particularly promotes environmental and climate education for children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as measures for the protection of nature and species conservation.

The Stiftung Klima- und Umweltschutz MV aims to raise awareness among the broad majority of the population about their responsibility in the climate crisis and to motivate them to independently and collectively find and implement climate-friendly solutions in all areas of life. Through education, networking, public relations, and targeted funding programs, it initiates impulses for sustainable action and strengthens civil society’s awareness of environmental and climate protection in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The offers and funding programs are aimed at all those active in climate and environmental protection in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: citizens, non-profit associations and initiatives, foundations, public institutions, non-profit companies (gGmbH), businesses, schools, daycare centers, youth organizations, and scientific institutions. Special emphasis is placed on projects that strengthen environmental awareness and knowledge about climate change among children, adolescents, and young adults or enable active engagement within this target group.
