About the funder

The KulturLandschaft Günztal Foundation was established in 2000 and is dedicated to promoting nature conservation, landscape management, public relations, and environmental education within the Günz catchment area. As a regionally rooted nature conservation foundation, it manages 116 hectares of owned and leased land, providing a permanent sanctuary for rare animal and plant species. In collaboration with municipalities, farmers, associations, and private sponsors, the foundation implements projects that expand the "Biotope Network Günztal" from Günzach to Günzburg, thereby enhancing biodiversity.

Mission & Vision

We are committed to permanently preserving biological diversity in the Günztal cultural landscape by proactively creating new natural habitats, connecting existing biotopes, and strengthening local awareness of nature through environmental education. Our goal is a Günztal that provides habitat for the entire biodiversity while simultaneously securing a sustainable and healthy foundation for the future of its people.

Target groups

The foundation's funding programs and projects are aimed at municipalities, specialist authorities, and associations in the Günztal region for the joint implementation of nature conservation measures; farmers who expand the habitat network through extensive management and partnerships; schools, kindergartens, and educational institutions offered environmental education programs specifically for children and youth; as well as the interested public, who are actively involved in nature conservation through excursions, expert lectures, and crowdfunding campaigns.
