Stiftung Kulturlandschaft Sachsen-Anhalt
About the funder
The Stiftung Kulturlandschaft Sachsen-Anhalt was founded in 2016 as the first cultural landscape foundation in the new federal states. Its founders are eight district farmers' associations as well as the State Farmers' Association of Saxony-Anhalt. Under the umbrella of the German Foundation for Cultural Landscapes, the foundation is committed to nature and landscape conservation in agriculturally shaped cultural landscapes. In close cooperation with agricultural partner enterprises, it develops and supports ecologically and economically viable, biodiversity-promoting measures: from model projects in cooperative nature conservation to production-integrated compensation and to offset and replacement measures for infrastructure projects.

Mission & Vision
Think globally. Act locally. Protect nature.
Our foundation promotes collaborative approaches between agriculture and nature conservation. We see ourselves as a networking hub for stakeholders from agriculture, environmental administration, conservation organizations, landowners, as well as research and educational institutions. At the core are practical, long-term projects aimed at the maintenance and reinstatement of valuable cultural landscape habitats and the reduction of land consumption through compensation and replacement measures.
Target groups
The funding programs and projects of the foundation are aimed at agricultural enterprises implementing practical, biodiversity-promoting measures; compensation obligors from municipalities, companies, and public agencies seeking offset and replacement measures; nature conservation associations and environmental authorities as technical partners; landowners wishing to conclude lease or management contracts; as well as research and educational institutions participating in model projects in cooperative nature conservation.
