Mission & Vision
The Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen Foundation is tasked with collecting, preserving, and making modern and contemporary art accessible to the public. It promotes innovative exhibitions, provenance research, and the communication of artistic positions through exhibition programs, educational formats, and digital offerings. In doing so, it emphasizes international connections and diversity to make art tangible in dialogue with social and historical issues.

The foundation's offerings are aimed at a broad audience: art enthusiasts and researchers as well as families, school classes, children’s, youth, and adult groups. It addresses regional and supra-regional visitors, international guests, cultural institutions, and partner organizations from the fields of science and education. With barrier-free services, digital formats, and target group-specific educational programs, the Stiftung Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen seeks to promote art appreciation and make art an experience as part of societal discourse.
