As the Stiftung Lernen durch Engagement, we are committed nationwide to high-quality and sustainable service-learning in schools to strengthen democracy and civil society and to transform schools and learning culture. We work on this with a large network of schools and partners and cooperate with education policy and administration. We are a non-profit organization and finance ourselves through grants and donations.

A democratic society for all people, a democratic school for all children – this is what we, as a foundation, are committed to. Through Learning through Engagement, we enable young people, regardless of their background, to gain empowering experiences with school education, civic engagement, and democratic action.

The foundation's programs are aimed at schools and educational stakeholders (teachers, school administrations, LdE school coordinators), civil society partner organizations, as well as students of all school types in Germany who wish to develop democratic competencies and social engagement through Service-Learning.
