About the funder

The Stiftung Luftbrückendank was founded in 2001 to keep alive the memory of the humanitarian airlift supplying West Berlin during the 1948/49 blockade. It supports projects in the fields of research, education, and culture that deal with the history of the airlift. The foundation organizes exhibitions, lectures, and educational programs and supports international exchange projects that convey knowledge about this significant period.

Mission & Vision

The Stiftung Luftbrückendank is committed to preserving the memory of the Airlift and raising awareness of the importance of solidarity and humanitarian aid. Through educational and cultural projects, we aim to safeguard the history of the Berlin Blockade for future generations and promote international dialogue.

Target groups

Our funding programs are aimed at educational institutions, research institutions, cultural organizations, as well as individuals and initiatives engaged with the history of the airlift and the themes of reconciliation, culture of remembrance, and transatlantic exchange. In particular, we support projects related to historical, cultural, and political learning.
