About the funder

The Stiftung Netzwerk Nächstenliebe e.V. is a non-profit and charitable foundation based in Braunschweig. It was established in 2007 by volunteers of the Verein Netzwerk Nächstenliebe e.V. to provide a financially sustainable basis for the social-diaconal tasks of the Braunschweig Friedenskirche. Its focus areas include the promotion and support of the Braunschweig Friedenskirche as well as diaconal projects in the fields of child, youth, adult, and elderly care. The foundation operates the family center “Spatz 21” and a kindergarten, provides spaces for counseling and care services, and annually funds numerous neighborhood-related projects.

Mission & Vision

"Seek the welfare of the city!" – This biblical phrase is the guiding principle of the Stiftung Netzwerk Nächstenliebe e.V. It sees itself as a community-oriented actor in the city and region of Braunschweig and supports social-diaconal projects in an unbureaucratic manner that provide concrete help to people in emergency situations. In doing so, it places great value on sustainability, long-term impact, and openness to all people regardless of religion or worldview.

Target groups

Funding is provided to legally recognized, non-profit institutions (associations, clubs, recognized carriers of diaconal services, migrant organizations) engaged in diaconal or charitable activities in Braunschweig and the surrounding area; natural persons considered in need of assistance according to §§ 51 ff. AO; as well as projects and initiatives that support people in social, economic, or personal distress in a needs-oriented, unbureaucratic, and sustainable manner.
