About the funder
The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation is a public-law foundation supported by the federal government and the Länder, which, with 25 institutions – including 21 museums, the Berlin State Library, the Secret State Archives Prussian Cultural Heritage, the Ibero-American Institute, and the State Institute for Music Research – preserves, scientifically catalogs, exhibits, and makes accessible to the public the cultural heritage of Prussia. It consolidates excellent collections, archives, and libraries into unique knowledge archives and promotes research, education, and international cooperation.

Mission & Vision
The SPK preserves and maintains the Prussian cultural heritage as an indispensable part of German and European culture. It provides a reliable, long-term foundation for the operation, further development, and international prominence of its museums, archives, libraries, and research institutes. Through research, digitization, and outreach, the foundation ensures that historical collections remain vibrant for science, education, and the public.
Target groups
The SPK's offerings are aimed at: researchers and visiting scholars conducting one- to three-month research stays within the framework of the SPK scholarship program; students, educators, as well as culture and art enthusiasts seeking information in museums, libraries, and archives; national and international cooperation partners in the fields of provenance research, cultural heritage protection, digitization, and cultural mediation; visitors of all ages attending cultural exhibitions and events at the foundation's institutions.
