Stiftung REFUGIO

The REFUGIO Bremen Foundation was established in December 2013 by the association REFUGIO e. V. and recognized as a legal, non-profit foundation in February 2014. Its objective is to secure the work of the Psychosocial Center for Refugees of the association REFUGIO Bremen e. V. in the long term and to sustainably support its projects. The foundation’s capital is derived from endowments, benefit concerts, and donations, while the income mainly comes from rental revenues of its own property in Bremen. Annual reports, financial statements, and commitments to transparency are published regularly.

The Refugio Bremen Foundation is committed to the sustainable securing of psychosocial services for traumatized refugees in Bremen. By building and maintaining a solid endowment fund, we aim to ensure that the association REFUGIO Bremen e. V. can offer its counseling, therapy, and prevention services permanently, independent of short-term funding decisions. We are dedicated to transparency, responsible management of resources, and supporting vulnerable individuals on their path to integration and healing.

The Refugio Bremen Foundation primarily supports the work of the REFUGIO Bremen e. V. association and its treatment center. Indirectly, this benefits especially people who have fled war, persecution, or discrimination and require psychosocial support in Bremen. The target groups include traumatized refugees, psychological professionals, as well as volunteers who collaboratively work on the care structure for psychologically burdened migrants.
