About the funder
The Schmetterling Foundation was established in December 2004 by former supervisory board members of the Allianz Group and has since been financed exclusively through private commitment. Its foundation purpose includes the promotion of science and research, youth welfare, education, as well as civic engagement for the benefit of charitable and benevolent causes for children and young people in Germany. The foundation supports social, educational, and cultural projects with financial grants, which particularly benefit disadvantaged young people.

Mission & Vision
The Schmetterling Foundation is committed to promoting equal opportunities and participation for children and young people in Germany. Through targeted financial support and collaboration with social institutions and educational projects, it creates conditions in which young people can develop their potential. Target groups
The funding measures of the Schmetterling Foundation are aimed at children and young people in Germany, particularly socially disadvantaged or young individuals in difficult life situations. Supported are individual projects, group activities, and institutions that provide scientific, educational, cultural, or social services. The foundation supports both non-profit organizations and associations as well as public institutions active in the fields of youth welfare, education, and research.
