About the funder

The Stiftung Schwarz-Rot-Bunt is a non-legal-entity charitable trust foundation of the International Bund (IB) Freier Träger der Jugend-, Sozial- und Bildungsarbeit e.V., based in Frankfurt am Main. It is committed to combating extremism, racism, group-focused enmity, and violence, and promotes democratic coexistence through project-based funding calls, educational formats, and public relations work. The goal is to strengthen the democratic participation of children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as to foster intercultural understanding and civic courage.

Mission & Vision

The Schwarz-Rot-Bunt Foundation aims to establish a diverse, democratic, and solidaristic coexistence in Germany and operates in a non-partisan and religiously independent manner. Its goal is to promote democratic behaviors, combat extremism and racism, and strengthen participation and inclusion, thereby ensuring the sustainable prevention of group-focused enmity.

Target groups

Funding is provided primarily for institutions and initiatives of the International Federation (IB), SFZ-Förderzentrum gGmbH, and their subsidiaries both domestically and abroad. The projects are mainly aimed at children, adolescents, and young adults who are to acquire democratic competencies and experience social participation through participatory formats.
