Public foundation

About the funder

The Stiftung Südthüringisches Kammerorchester is a non-profit community foundation established in 2000 with the aim of financing a self-sustaining chamber orchestra and preserving the classical music culture in South Thuringia. The growing foundation capital originates from endowments by citizens, companies, and municipal authorities. The interest income from the foundation’s assets and the revenue from concerts enable the offering of high-quality classical concerts and the economic independence of the orchestra.

Mission & Vision

The Stiftung Südthüringisches Kammerorchester is committed to preserving an independent chamber orchestra through an alternative financing model, thereby securing regional musical culture in the long term. It promotes innovative approaches to funding classical music and provides musical education as well as high-quality concert experiences for all age groups.

Target groups

The foundation is aimed at supporting members, patrons, and music enthusiasts who wish to strengthen the foundation's assets through additional donations; at a broad concert audience in South Thuringia interested in high-quality classical concerts; as well as at children and young people (ages 3–18) in kindergartens and schools, who are playfully introduced to the world of classical music through the "Classics for the Little Ones" program.
