Stiftung Tierschutz Hamburg
About the funder
The non-profit Stiftung Tierschutz Hamburg was founded in 2009 by the association "Tiere in Not-Hamburg e.V." and the Goerke couple. Its goal is to provide long-term financial resources for animal welfare projects and to offer animal lovers a trustworthy alternative to direct association support. Currently, the foundation supports animal welfare organizations in Northern Germany as well as international projects, such as the "Smeura" animal shelter in Romania, which cares for over 6,000 dogs. In addition, it covers the costs of neutering and veterinary care for free-roaming cats and promotes structural measures in animal shelters.

Mission & Vision
The Stiftung Tierschutz Hamburg is committed to using donations and endowments sustainably and fiduciary for the benefit of animals. Regardless of personnel changes in partner organizations, the funds are to flow permanently and in a controlled manner into animal welfare. Through supervision and regular audits, the foundation guarantees the proper use of funds, strengthens donor confidence, and promotes animal welfare in the long term.
Target groups
Primarily supported are animal protection associations in Northern Germany as well as selected international projects dedicated to the care and protection of animals. At the same time, the foundation addresses animal lovers, benefactors, and donors who seek a secure and permanent use of their funds in animal welfare.
