About the funder

The Stiftung Wegelichter is a non-profit foundation based in Frankfurt am Main, dedicated to hospice and palliative care for seriously ill and dying children, adolescents, and adults. Under the foundation's umbrella, three professional services are united: PalliativTeamFrankfurt gGmbH for adults, KinderPalliativTeam Südhessen for young people with life-limiting illnesses, and the Würdezentrum offering educational programs in the field of palliative care. The goal is to promote a culture of care that places people at the center, ensures support, time, and appreciation as essential components of care, and develops and implements innovative care concepts in the Rhine-Main region.

Mission & Vision

The Stiftung Wegelichter is dedicated to the mission of providing critically ill and dying individuals in their final phase of life with more time, closeness, and human compassion than purely medical institutions can offer. It supports caregiving and volunteer teams, promotes scientific projects, and develops training and continuing education programs to sustainably establish a humane care culture.

Target groups

The services of the Stiftung Wegelichter are aimed at critically ill and dying children, adolescents, and adults in Frankfurt am Main and the Rhine-Main region, as well as their relatives. Furthermore, the foundation supports professionals, volunteers, and organizations in the health and social sectors through advanced training, workshops, and research projects in the field of palliative care and psychosocial support.
