About the funder
The Stiftung WissenWecken gemeinnützige GmbH was founded in October 2020 and is committed to bringing ideas and innovations for sustainable land use into practice. Together with creative and dedicated individuals in Germany and worldwide, the foundation implements educational and demonstration projects, so-called educational gardens and farms, where environmental and nutritional education becomes tangible. Furthermore, it supports smallholder farmers in Kenya, Uganda, Bolivia, and Germany through training programs, promotes innovative agroforestry technology concepts, and advocates for a just transition in the context of climate change. The foundation is tax-privileged, non-profit, and a signatory of the Initiative Transparente Zivilgesellschaft.

Mission & Vision
The WissenWecken Foundation supports committed and creative individuals to realize their ideas for sustainable land use. Our goal is to shape the production of food and raw materials so that people can make a good living from it while simultaneously protecting and promoting the environment and biodiversity.
Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at individuals, groups, and non-profit initiatives, particularly schools and educational organizations (Green Classrooms, Educational Gardens), small-scale farmers in developing regions (Kenya, Uganda, Bolivia), research institutions and environmental initiatives that develop practical concepts for sustainable agriculture, as well as committed changemakers and start-ups in the field of innovative agroforestry technologies who wish to jointly advance the ecological and social aspects of equitable land use.
