Stiftung "Zukunft für Berlin"

Private foundation

About the funder

The Zukunft für Berlin Foundation is a non-profit foundation based in Berlin-Marzahn, dedicated since its establishment in 1996 to supporting educational, integration, and recreational projects for children, adolescents, and young adults in the districts of Marzahn-Hellersdorf and Lichtenberg. As an active partner, it supports initiatives and associations in project development, provides an innovation fund for initial projects, and maintains an unbureaucratic "emergency fund" for urgent needs in child and youth work. The foundation operates independently of political parties and religious denominations and serves as a mediator between donors and local stakeholders.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is founded on the conviction that children and young people are our future. We are committed to promoting their healthy development and participation in the districts of Marzahn-Hellersdorf and Lichtenberg by providing unbureaucratic support to youth welfare start-ups, grassroots initiatives, as well as existing and new project sponsors. In doing so, we foster sustainable structures and bring together funding and local expertise.

Target groups

Start-ups in youth welfare and grassroots initiatives, school and daycare support associations, existing initiatives in emergencies (emergency fund), as well as external partners with project ideas for children and young people in the districts of Marzahn-Hellersdorf and Lichtenberg are supported. The target group comprises all children, adolescents, and young adults in these Berlin districts.
