Private foundation

About the funder

The Stockhausen Foundation was established in 2013 by Hans-Reinhard von Stockhausen (†2019) as a legally recognized foundation under civil law, based in Berlin. Its purpose is to improve the educational opportunities of children and adolescents in Germany by compensating for economic, social, or other disadvantages. The foundation supports both non-profit projects and initiatives as well as individual educational measures for minors under 18 years of age. It cooperates with public institutions, non-profit organizations, and other social actors to implement sustainable and professional educational programs for disadvantaged young people.

Mission & Vision

Our goal is to support the individual educational efforts of children and young people as well as extracurricular support measures in order to reduce social and economic inequalities. We promote sustainable, professional cooperation structures and place great value on an open approach in the selection of projects and individual measures. In doing so, we strive to provide affected young people with better opportunities for academic, professional, and personal development.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Stockhausen Foundation are aimed at non-profit organizations and initiatives throughout Germany that wish to implement educational projects for disadvantaged children and adolescents (under 18 years of age), as well as individuals (children and adolescents) who can demonstrate a specific need for support (e.g., Berlin Pass, transfer benefits) and whose application is supported by a public institution or a non-profit organization. Both larger project initiatives (e.g., learning camps, art and music programs, experiential education) and smaller individual measures (e.g., tutoring, school trips, language courses, procurement of learning materials) are supported.
