About the funder

The Thuringian Ministry for Environment, Energy, Conservation and Forestry (TMUENF) is the highest state authority of the Free State of Thuringia responsible for environmental, energy, nature, and forestry policy. It prepares legislation, develops strategies in cooperation with municipalities and interest groups, implements funding programs, and exercises oversight over subordinate authorities (e.g., TLUBN). The ministry advises municipalities, companies, associations, clubs, and private applicants, thereby playing a key role in shaping the environmental and climate policy framework conditions in Thuringia.

Mission & Vision

Our work is dedicated to the protection, preservation, and improvement of our natural environment for its own sake and as a basis for human life. It consistently adheres to the principles of environmentally sound and sustainable action. Our goal is to reconcile the interests in maintaining an agricultural and forestry foundation, the care of cultural landscapes, the protection and use of water, soil, and air, as well as the safeguarding of biological diversity.

Target groups

The funding programs of the TMUENF are aimed at municipalities, small and medium-sized enterprises, associations, clubs, as well as private applicants in the Free State of Thuringia. Projects are supported in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, energy and climate protection, sustainable mobility, resource efficiency, water and wastewater protection, species conservation, forestry, fisheries, as well as innovative demonstration projects.
