About the funder

The Thuringian Zoopark Foundation is a legally established foundation under civil law based in Erfurt. It was founded to promote the Thuringian Zoopark Erfurt and supports species conservation and educational projects as well as the animal care, zoological, and infrastructural efforts of the Zoopark. Mission & Vision

Our mission is to strengthen the Thüringer Zoopark Erfurt as a vibrant showcase for species conservation and environmental education. We support endangered animal species through sponsorships, fund educational and research projects, and commit ourselves to sustainable infrastructure within the zoo. In doing so, we rely on volunteer work, partnerships, and public awareness to preserve biodiversity in the long term and to inspire visitors of all ages about animal and nature conservation issues.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Thüringer Zoopark Foundation are aimed at private individuals and families who wish to take on animal sponsorships; companies, institutions, and associations that want to act as sponsors or partners; volunteers engaged in the zoo park; schools, kindergartens, and educational institutions implementing environmental education projects; as well as institutions and authorities seeking to strengthen species conservation through cooperation.
