About the funder
The Ulmer Bürger Stiftung was established on March 26, 1997, by the Ulm City Council as a legal foundation under civil law with initial capital of 6 million DM. For over 24 years, it has promoted community work in Ulm, supporting non-profit and volunteer associations, organizations, and initiatives with start-up and recognition funding. To date, it has distributed approximately €3.32 million to 622 individual projects and around €3.48 million to 694 projects. Each year, it also awards up to five Ulm citizens the "Ulmer Band" for outstanding civic engagement.

Mission & Vision
The Ulmer Bürger Stiftung is dedicated to strengthening social cohesion in Ulm, supporting innovative and existing projects in the fields of education, youth welfare, elderly care, culture, sports, environmental protection, health, and social welfare, as well as promoting long-term sustainable social networks. It operates selflessly, preserves the foundation's capital permanently, and uses income and donations exclusively for purposes in accordance with its statutes.
Target groups
The target group of the foundation comprises non-profit and volunteer associations, organizations, and initiatives in the city of Ulm that are active in the fields of community work, social integration, and civic engagement. Funding is primarily provided for start-up and ongoing projects that, through financial seed funding or recognition, give an impetus to strengthening the urban community.
