About the funder

The Ulrich Spörel Foundation is an independent foundation under civil law based in Wiesbaden. It was established in 2023 following the death of its founder Ulrich Spörel (†2021) and was recognized by the Darmstadt Regional Council on April 19, 2023. The foundation supports musically gifted children and young people up to 20 years old in the greater Wiesbaden area through individual grants of up to €2,000 annually as well as project funding. Supported are instrumentalists, singers, and composers of all genres – from classical to rock-pop-jazz.

Mission & Vision

The Ulrich Spörel Foundation is dedicated to the musical and artistic education of young people in Wiesbaden and the surrounding area. It supports exceptionally interested and talented musicians up to 20 years of age in their individual development as well as in the implementation of musical projects and initiatives.

Target groups

Children and young people up to 20 years of age with above-average interest and talent in music, residing in Wiesbaden and the surrounding Hessian area. Supported are instrumentalists (keyboard, wind, string, plucked, and percussion instruments), vocalists of all genres, as well as composers. A prerequisite is residence in the Wiesbaden region.
