UNO Flüchtlingshilfe e.V.

UNO Flüchtlingshilfe e.V. is the German partner of UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency. Since its founding in 1980, the organization has supported aid projects for refugees both domestically and abroad. The primary task of UNO Flüchtlingshilfe is to inform the public about the situation of refugees and to raise funds to support the work of UNHCR. The organization places great emphasis on transparency and oversight to ensure donor trust. It is recognized as a non-profit organization and is exempt from corporate and trade tax.

UNO Flüchtlingshilfe is committed worldwide to securing the survival of refugees and enabling them to have a better future. Together with UNHCR, the organization creates prospects and develops lasting solutions for refugees—both globally and in Germany. UNO Flüchtlingshilfe believes in the transformative power of solidarity and cooperation and aims to contribute to improving the living conditions of refugees through its work.

The funding programs of UNO Flüchtlingshilfe primarily target refugees who are recognized as such according to the definition of the Geneva Refugee Convention. A special focus is placed on vulnerable groups such as women, children, and people with disabilities. Secondarily, support is also directed towards volunteers and full-time staff working in refugee assistance, as well as the general public and decision-makers, in order to raise awareness of the challenges and needs of refugees.
