About the funder

The Vector Foundation was established in 2011 as a corporate-affiliated, non-profit foundation. It holds 60% of the shares in Vector Informatik GmbH and finances its activities from the dividends of this holding. Annually, it supports an average of 150 projects with around 12 million euros and has invested more than 95 million euros in the Baden-Württemberg region since its inception. Its commitment focuses on technical-scientific research, STEM education, as well as social engagement, particularly in the areas of combating homelessness and integrating disadvantaged youth.

Mission & Vision

The Vector Foundation aims to strengthen the economic and high-technology location of Baden-Württemberg and to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in STEM professions. It promotes innovative research projects, supports teachers and educational institutions to enhance STEM competencies, and advocates for the social inclusion of disadvantaged youth and homeless people.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Vector Foundation are aimed at non-profit and research-intensive universities, colleges, and non-university research institutions in Baden-Württemberg. In the education sector, schools and non-profit institutions offering STEM programs for students are supported. In the social sector, the foundation promotes civil society actors who create special learning and meeting places for disadvantaged youth and homeless people.
