About the funder

The Veolia Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Berlin. It was established in 2001 as the Vivendi Universal Foundation and later renamed the Veolia Foundation. As a non-profit corporate foundation of the environmental services provider Veolia, it supports projects and organizations that promote sustainable development and contribute to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Funding priorities include circular economy, energy efficiency, as well as the protection of water resources and biodiversity. After more than 20 years of work, the foundation has supported over 480 projects with around 5 million euros. Well-known programs: ProInnovation, ProAktion, ProEhrenamt.

Mission & Vision

The Veolia Foundation assumes the company's social responsibility beyond its core business. It supports projects and organizations that aim to promote sustainable development, thereby contributing to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the areas of circular economy, energy efficiency, and the protection of water resources and biodiversity.

Target groups

Non-profit organizations and projects focused on sustainable development operating in Germany. Through the ProAktion program, priority is given to organizations in regions with Veolia presence. ProEhrenamt targets non-profit organizations where Veolia employees volunteer. Geographic focus: entire territory of Germany.
