About the funder

The von Laer Foundation was established based on the legacy of Friedrich Wilhelm von Laer and the social-political commitment of his sister Emilie von Laer. As a non-profit foundation and operator of daycare centers as well as partial and full residential services for educational assistance according to §§ 27 ff. SGB VIII, it develops needs-based services for children, adolescents, and families. With an interdisciplinary team of educational professionals, family counselors, and other experts, the foundation ensures comprehensive support, guidance, and protection in all areas of life, guided by current socio-pedagogical insights.

Mission & Vision

"There is no future without children! They must be at the center of all societal interests and decisions." This guiding principle directs the actions of the von Laer Stiftung: It guarantees protection, promotes sustainable development, and stands on the side of the vulnerable. Based on a diaconal tradition rooted in Christian faith and lived charity, the foundation offers children and young people a life of dignity, security, and care. In this, supporting families is a societal responsibility.

The services of the von Laer Foundation are aimed at children and adolescents, particularly those with physical, mental, or emotional impairments as well as children at risk of disability, families requiring support in parenting due to special burdens, and parents or guardians seeking professional advice and guidance to promote child development.
