Mission & Vision

The Waisenhausstiftung Freiburg is committed to providing young people in challenging life situations with reliable professional relationships, safe developmental spaces, and individualized support. It believes in the participation and self-determination of the youth, ensured through a cross-institutional participation and complaint procedure as well as psychosocial specialist services. Through decentralized, small-scale facilities close to their living environment, equal opportunities and self-responsible actions are to be promoted.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Waisenhausstiftung are aimed at children and adolescents in Freiburg and the surrounding area who, due to familial, psychosocial, or health-related emergencies, are temporarily or permanently unable to live in their original environment or require professional support. Target groups include, for example, girls aged 12–18 in protective residential groups, adolescents from 14 years old in care groups, young adults in transitional facilities, as well as young people who need psychotherapeutic or remedial educational support.
