Waldkircher Orgelstiftung

Non-profit organization

About the funder

The Waldkirch Organ Foundation was established in December 2000 as a legally recognized foundation under civil law. Its aim is to preserve Waldkirch’s more than 200-year tradition of organ building, to make it visible through research, documentation, and restoration of historic organs and mechanical musical instruments, and to promote the artisanal and musicological study of both old and new repertoires. Since 2002, the foundation has operated the Organ Builders’ Hall with more than 60 historic instruments, organized exhibitions, concerts, and publications, and supported apprentices, restorers, and specialist schools with scholarships and awards.
